One injured after fire at Knoxville apartment complex

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — One person was injured in a fire at Spring Meadows Apartments in Knoxville.

Knox County Emergency Communications District received a 911 call at 4:57 p.m. reporting smoke from a second-floor apartment at the apartment complex on Washington Ridge Way. It was quickly put out by firefighters, with KFD posting that the fire was extinguished at 5:15 p.m.

Building management and maintenance personnel unsuccessfully attempted to rescue a male who was injured in the apartment. He was evaluated and transported to a local hospital
