Community encouraged to come together one year after Savannah Copeland’s death

POWELL, Tenn. (WATE) — It has been nearly one year since 13-year-old Savannah Grace Copeland was stabbed to death on a trail in the Powell community.

Her dad, Michael Copeland, said navigating their loss has been a difficult path, and on the anniversary of her death, they wanted to include the community that is helping them through it, and they hope to come together with love, compassion, and grace.

“Too often with grief, you want to sit and stare at a wall, and that’s actually probably the worst way to deal with grief. Probably one of the more healthy ways is to do it with people who are there to support you and love you,” said Michael Copeland…
