Continental recalls some tire models, saying tires used wrong rubber

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Continental Tire of the Americas is recalling some tire models, saying they contain the wrong rubber that could cause the tread to detach.

The recall claims tread detachment can increase the risk of a crash. Owners are expected to get a letter in the mail letting them know their tires need to be checked, but Continental has also released a list of affected models:

  • TerrainContact H/T LT265/60R20 121/118R
  • CrossContact LX25 235/60R18 107V
  • CrossContact RX ContiSeal 275/40R21 107H
  • General Grabber HTS 60LT245/75/R17 121/118S

Dealers will inspect and replace the tires for free, Continental said…
