KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — The sentencing date has been set for a former Knox County Sheriff’s Office employee who admitted to using KCSO and federal funds to buy items for personal use.
Ex-Knox County Narcotics Chief David Henderson is scheduled to be sentenced on February 2, 2026. In August, Henderson pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit federal program fraud. He is facing up to five years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines.
In his plea agreement, Henderson admitted to conspiring with other officers to “steal federal program funds” for personal use between 2011 and 2018. The conspiracy included Henderson and others purchasing around $138,000 worth of Apple product at Henderson’s direction that were given to his friends and family.
