UT Extension program gets $500K grant to help SNAP recipients access job training

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — After receiving a nearly $500,000 grant, a UT Extension program is expanding this month.

Skill Up Tennessee is aimed at helping adults who use the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program(SNAP) gain the knowledge and skills needed for employment. The grant money will help the program expand to help adults who have a history of drug use or are at an increased risk of substance use disorder.
