Quick-thinking woman helps police bust Knoxville man for 5th DUI, report says

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A quick-thinking witness helped officers in Knoxville take a man into custody Monday, charging him with his fifth DUI, according to a police report obtained by WVLT News.

It happened around 3 a.m. at the Shell gas station at 8901 Oak Ridge Highway, the report said, when a woman got a hold of police and told them about Robert Eaves.

“Officers spoke with [the woman], who stated that she observed Robert Eaves exit from a blue Chevrolet truck and enter the building,” the report said. “[The woman] observed that Robert seemed confused and had slurred speech. [The woman] believed that Robert was under the influence of some drug.”…
