Residents across East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and parts of North Carolina can expect to wake up to frosty conditions again this morning after the National Weather Service in Knoxville reported temperatures sitting right at the dewpoint of 39°F. A detailed forecast predicts a sunny day, with a high creeping up to 64°F. Calm winds will prevail, doing little to stir the settled chill.

Tonight, the stars might be bright, but the temperatures will once again drop, hitting around 41°F with a gentle northeast breeze whispering into action at about 5 mph. The NWS warns of “Another night of frosty conditions tonight into Saturday morning over the same locations,” marking a continued brisk touch to the fall air.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Knoxville can expect a partly sunny Saturday with a high near 67°F and similarly calm winds. By Sunday, however, there’s a 20 percent chance of showers creeping in post 2pm, disrupting the otherwise mostly cloudy skies and mild high near 67°F.
