KCSO: Deputy Kirchner faces foot amputation after July DUI crash injury

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knox County Deputy Matt Kirchner suffered multiple fractures in his left ankle and other injuries in a head-on crash with an 18-year-old who was eventually charged with driving under the influence in July.

Monday, Blue Line Tennessee Inc. announced that Kirchner has made the tough decision to move forward with the amputation of his foot after talking with doctors and his family.
