When Jason and Michaela Dotsch began looking for a new place to call home after their previous rental sold, the small, close-knit community feel of Alcoa immediately drew them in. City officials’ plans to renovate the Springbrook Farm area into a new downtown centered around compact, mixed-use developments were also a driving factor.
So when they learned about the city’s talks to potentially construct a Costco within the downtown area, Jason said they began to grow concerned.
“I know there’s a lot that goes into a decision like this, a lot of things that you guys have to consider long-term.
