Beck Cultural Exchange Center begins construction on Delaney museum

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Beck Cultural Exchange Center has officially begun construction on the long-awaited international Delaney Museum at Beck.

On Thursday, the center announced construction had begun at the historic Delaney House in East Knoxville. Work is underway to transform the last remaining family home of artists and brothers Beauford and Joseph Delaney into a living museum that honors the legacy of two of Knoxville’s most influential artists.

The center said the Delaney Museum at Beck is anticipated to become a space for art, history and inspiration for future generations to experience a story of perseverance, creativity, and community.

“We are building more than walls. We are building a legacy,” the The Beck Cultural Exchange Center wrote.

The center thanked donors for their generosity that is helping bring the museum to life “one brick at a time,” but shared that more financial support is needed to complete the project…
