Tennessee lawmaker working on bill that will inflict harsher penalties for drink spiking

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Democratic Rep. Bob Freeman said that in Nashville, one out of five sexual assaults happens in the presence of “date rape” drugs.

Freeman said in most cases, if a sexual assault does not occur after someone believes their drink has been spiked, hospitals don’t test for drugs.
