The workshop session for the Blount County Board of Commissioners advanced a resolution on Thursday endorsing and encouraging the county’s state delegation to file bills designating the armory on U.S. 321 as William O. Gregory Army National Guard Armory. The resolution originated from the Veterans Affairs Committee, where it passed in October, and will be set for the full commission’s agenda.
“When he served down there, he was the armory,” said Tom Carver, who served eight years with Gregory. “He would be proud they’re doing this.”…
