‘It means people are walking with you’ | Henley Street Bridge lights up purple to support National Epilepsy Awareness Month

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Henley Street Bridge is usually always lit up in Knoxville. However, anyone who drove by the bridge Monday night may have seen the color purple.

The overpass is purple to honor National Epilepsy Awareness Month. Epilepsy is a brain disorder that causes frequent seizures.

“This is awareness right here,” said Monika Hancock, executive director of the East Tennessee Epilepsy Foundation. “This is bringing awareness to our organization about what we do so we can help more clients and more people that live with epilepsy.”…
