KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knoxville Police Department is looking for a man who it said fled from a hospital after being charged with driving under the influence and other charges.
After midnight on Monday, KPD’s Community Engagement Team said it found Gregory Williamson, 41, passed out in a running car at the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Ben Hur Avenue. The officers succeeded in waking Williamson “after an extended time,” then detained him, KPD said.

During the investigation, police found more than seven grams of suspected fentanyl, other drugs, a handgun and more than $1,200 in cash, KPD said. It added that Williamson admitted to being under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
Williamson was charged with driving under the influence, convicted felon in possession of a weapon and two counts of resale of schedule II drugs. He was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for evaluation, but on Monday afternoon, KPD learned he had fled from the hospital, and police have not been able to find him…
