KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — United Way of Greater Knoxville and the City of Knoxville is rolling out $200,000 in emergency funding to support food distribution and assistance services across the city.
The Mobile Meals Kitchen, run by the Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee (CAC), is one of nine organizations receiving emergency funding for food distribution support arriving just in time for the holidays.

CAC said it’s seen an increase in people needing extra food assistance after the government shutdown. This new support will strengthen programs like Mobile Meals and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, which directly reach local families.
