‘Show love’ Knoxville content creator holds turkey drive

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville content creator and local businesses held a turkey drive Sunday afternoon.

After raising about $5,000 in donations, Dexter Mims Jr., CEO of Yeah Doe Productions, and his team distributed turkeys to those in need in a Broadway parking lot.

“This is something I wanted to do to give back,” Mims said. “It’s always been in my heart. I wanted to use my platform for something good… I felt like it’s a great opportunity to show love to people for showing me love.”

He said this was especially important because of recent delays in SNAP benefits. His team gave out boxes including turkey, cranberry sauce and macaroni and cheese. He hopes more people will get involved and show love to the community. A & B Distributors, Baker Boy Pizza Company and 3 Kingz Tattoos partnered with him for the drive, he said…
