KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville content creator and local businesses held a turkey drive Sunday afternoon.
After raising about $5,000 in donations, Dexter Mims Jr., CEO of Yeah Doe Productions, and his team distributed turkeys to those in need in a Broadway parking lot.

“This is something I wanted to do to give back,” Mims said. “It’s always been in my heart. I wanted to use my platform for something good… I felt like it’s a great opportunity to show love to people for showing me love.”
He said this was especially important because of recent delays in SNAP benefits. His team gave out boxes including turkey, cranberry sauce and macaroni and cheese.
