KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — An East Knoxville yarn shop is offering classes and community events.
Melissa Durko opened The Bees Knits on Washington Avenue in December 2023. She prides herself on supporting local makers while also offering classes, workshops and community events.
“I sold at a lot of markets,” Durko said. “I would sell the hats that I’m now having people make in the store. And I networked with everyone, especially once I realized I was gonna open the store. I just was like, ‘Hey, like who are you? I’m opening a yarn store. Take my card to everybody.'”…
