Rain and storms on the way for Tuesday, colder for Thanksgiving!

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Rain will arrive late tonight with lows in the low to mid 50s. Winds will turn southwest at 5-10 mph in the Valley, but it will get very windy in the higher elevations by sunrise.

RAIN/STORMS TUESDAY: Pockets of heavy rain and storms will move through in the morning and again in the afternoon. Any storm could briefly become severe with high wind gusts or pea size hail, but overall risk is marginal. Highs will reach the mid 60s. Winds will be southwest at 10-20 mph with gusts over 40 mph in the mountains.

WEDNESDAY: A few showers in the morning with a mostly cloudy sky. It will be breezy and cooler with highs in the 50s for most areas. Lows will drop to freezing or below in most areas Wednesday night.

COLDER THANKSGIVING DAY/BLACK FRIDAY: Breezy and colder with highs in the 40s both days. It will be mostly sunny. Lows will be around 30 Thursday and even colder in the 20s Friday morning.

WEEKEND: Mostly sunny Saturday with highs back in the 50s and lows in the 30s. Expect a partly to mostly cloudy sky Sunday with a few downpours possible…
