Boring Company CEO Steve Davis said he wants to eventually expand and connect underground transportation tunnels across the state, but key milestones still stand in the company’s path.
“The hope and dream is that the city likes us and uses it and wants to build more,” Davis said, during a Nov. 24 X livestream. ”While that’s happening, our machine is getting faster and faster, such that we can say, ‘Okay, great, we have a loop in Nashville. Now let’s build a loop in Knoxville’.”
While Davis acknowledged the plans are in their infancy, he hypothesized a hyperloop connecting the two Volunteer State municipalities. As it relates to Boring Co. founder Elon Musk’s vision, a hyperloop is an underground high-speed transportation system that rivals traditional modes of transportation.
