Tracking a messy morning commute and storms on the way

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -Rain will continue to spill in throughout the morning becoming widespread. Strong storms with gusty winds will be possible, especially during the afternoon.

RAIN/STORMS TUESDAY: Pockets of heavy rain and storms will move through in the morning. Although the activity becomes scattered during the afternoon, embedded storms will be possible. Any storm that does develop could briefly become severe with high wind gusts or pea size hail, but overall risk is marginal. Highs will reach the mid 60s. Winds will be southwest at 10-20 mph with gusts over 40 mph in the mountains.

WEDNESDAY: Any bit of lingering activity exits very early Wednesday morning. Clouds will be slow to exit, but becoming much drier and breezy as cooler air follows. Highs in the 50s for most areas. Lows will drop to freezing or below in most areas Wednesday night.
