Sevier County, TN – Drug Bust: NOVA Unit Seizes Guns, Cash, Narcotics in Traffic Stop

Sevierville, TN – A routine traffic stop in Sevier County turned into a significant narcotics and weapons seizure this week, resulting in two arrests and what authorities describe as a strong example of interagency teamwork.

According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, the traffic stop was conducted by the county’s NOVA Unit, an undercover task force made up of investigators from the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, Gatlinburg Police Department, Pigeon Forge Police Department and Sevierville Police Department. Officers developed additional information during the stop that led to a search warrant at a related location.

According to investigators, the coordinated operation resulted in the recovery of approximately $3,500 in cash, along with heroin, methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, fentanyl and marijuana. A firearm was also seized. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the investigation and now face multiple narcotics and weapons-related charges.
