Sevier County Sheriff Applauds NOVA Unit for Major Drug and Firearm Bust in Trafficking Crackdown

Sevier County Sheriff Michael R. Hodges, Jr. took to social media to commend the local undercover unit following a bust that yielded a significant cache of drugs and a firearm. According to a post on the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, the NOVA Unit’s recent efforts helped apprehend two suspects and remove a variety of substances—including heroin, meth, psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, fentanyl, and marijuana—off the streets.

The success of the operation stemmed from a traffic stop that snowballed into a larger investigation, ultimately leading to the discovery of the narcotics along with $3,500 and a firearm. Developed information from officers during the operation provided the necessary leads to secure a search warrant and make the subsequent arrests.
