Georgia Loses Recruiting Battle to Vanderbilt on Saturday

The No. 14 Vanderbilt Commodores are 9-2 going into a Week 14 matchup against the No. 19 and 8-3 Tennessee Volunteers. The Commodores are looking for their first 10-win season in program history.

The team’s success under head coach Clark Lea has made it an increasingly popular destination for high school recruits. Vanderbilt recently found itself in a battle for class of 2027 linebacker Omarii Sanders out of Nashville.

He’s garnered a lot of interest, as Rivals Industry Rankings place him as a four-star recruit, the No. 3 linebacker and the No. 58 player in the nation. Rivals’ Chad Simmons reported that Sanders’ top five schools were Vanderbilt, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Miami Hurricanes and the Texas A&M Aggies.
