CLINTON, Tenn. (WATE) — A former Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy is facing charges, including official misconduct, after she was accused of trying to sell a piece of stolen property that was recovered as part of her official duties.
District Attorney General Dave Clark announced on Wednesday that Whitney B. Davis, 31, was indicted by an Anderson County Grand Jury on one count of official misconduct and one count of theft of $1,000 or less. She is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on January 5, 2026.

Clark’s office released that the indictment stemmed from a report of a stolen crossbow. Davis was accused of keeping the crossbow that she recovered as part of her official duties and allegedly trying to sell it.
After the case was investigated by the Clinton Police Department, it was presented to the Anderson County Grand Jury, which indicted Davis. Clark’s office added that Davis’ employment with the sheriff’s office ended before she was indicted by the grand jury…
