New sports bar to open at Covenant Health Park, 100 jobs expected

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A company plans to open a new sports bar at Knoxville’s Covenant Health Park, potentially creating 100 jobs, according to a release from marketing company MoxCar.

Jonathan’s Grille, a sports bar based in Nashville with locations throughout the state and Alabama, plans to open the new bar in a 9,000-square-foot space beside the Delaney Building near the south entrance to Covenant Health Park, MoxCar said. Curt Revelette, a co-owner, said he expects construction to begin in March 2026 and last 10 months.

He said Jonathan’s Grille aims for “a Cheers-like feeling,” and that he plans for it to remain open until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights and until midnight the rest of the week. He added that some people who started as servers ended up running their own stores. Menu items would include burgers, flatbreads, wings, hot chicken and more.
