Knoxville police warning of porch pirates after 2 charged for stealing package at Knox County home

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Knoxville Police Department is warning residents of porch pirates just days after two people were charged with stealing packages from the front porch of a Knox County home.

On Monday, 22-year-old Emily Bryant and 20-year-old Kaleb Lowery, both of Knoxville, were caught on a video doorbell stealing a package from a home on Burnett Creek Road, according to a police report obtained by WVLT News.

The victim provided the Knox County Sheriff’s Office with a copy of the video, and the two were pulled over on Tuesday and taken into custody. During an interview, Bryant “admitted that it was she who had taken the package” and also said she and Lowery took several other packages from other homes in both Knox and Sevier counties. Detectives searched their home and found two packages, including the one stolen from the home on Burnett Creek Road.
