Grand jury indicts suspect in 2024 fatal Alcoa crash

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Blount County Grand Jury has returned an indictment in a deadly crash that killed a 19-year-old woman in Alcoa last year.

District Attorney General Ryan Desmond said Maddox Forsythe has been charged with criminal homicide, theft, and leaving the scene of a crash that killed 19-year-old Madison Hoese in March 2024.

Out-of-state officer arrested in Gatlinburg while in town for training event

Investigators said Forsythe and Sebastian Jones were in a stolen pickup truck which ran a red light at the intersection of Lincoln Road and Hall Road and crashed into Hoese’s car. Forsythe and Jones were both 16 years old at the time of the crash.

According to court documents, the driver of the vehicle was intoxicated and had reportedly been on the run from a Department of Children’s Services juvenile facility…
