Knoxville Police identify person of interest in McCalla Avenue shooting

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knoxville Police Department is asking the public for help locating a man who they identified as a person of interest in connection to a shooting that left a man dead outside a McCalla Avenue home on Saturday.

KPD shared just after 4 p.m. on Monday that it was attempting to locate Job Alvardo-Lainez, 33, as a person of interest in connection with the shooting that happened in the early morning hours of Saturday, December 6, outside a home in the 1900 block of McCalla Avenue.

Former Cocke County High School coach charged with statutory rape

Alvarado-Lainez reportedly left the scene of the shooting in a Dodge truck that was later found abandoned on Wimpole Avenue. The department added that Alvarado-Lainez does have a warrant on file charging him with unlawful weapon possession under state law.

Anyone who has information on Alvarado-Lainez’s whereabouts is asked to contact the East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers.
