KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said one of its officers is being investigated for a possible violation of the department’s immigration policy.
KPD Communications Manager Scott Erland said Officer Heather Leeper detained Victor Bernardino-Mariono and later transported him to a local Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office when she learned he had a civil immigration warrant.
