Judge denies requests from Knoxville man sentenced to death in Christian-Newsom murders

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Senior Knox County Judge Don Ash has denied several requests from Lemaricus Davidson, one of five people convicted in the murders of 21-year-old Channon Christian and 23-year-old Christopher Newsom.

Davidson faces the death penalty in the 18-year-old case that has since become one of the most notorious criminal events to happen in Knoxville. In June, he appeared in court seeking a lesser sentence, the latest in a series of attempts from Davidson and his legal team to undo previous court decisions.
