The Town of Rockford took the adage “’tis better to give than to receive” quite literally on Saturday, showering the streets with candy and treats as the annual Rockford Christmas Parade meandered its way from the intersection of Continental Drive and South Singleton Station Road around Williams Mill Road before finally concluding in the park near Little River Road.
Beginning at 2:30 p.m., the full parade, including a joint-Heritage High School Marching Mountaineers and William Blount High School Marching Band concert in the park, lasted nearly two hours. Throughout it all, attendees crowded at intervals along the route or walked along with the decorated vehicles, cheering “Merry Christmas!” and “Happy Holidays!”
