KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A judge denied three separate attempts by the ringleader in the 2007 Christian-Newsom torture-slayings to challenge his death sentence, according to newly filed court orders.
Lemaricus Davidson, who remains on death row, asked the court to undo earlier rulings, reopen his post-conviction case and consider what he claimed was newly discovered evidence. Senior Judge Don Ash rejected all three requests.
