Grieving Knoxville family seeks closure after issue with relative’s grave marker

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Knoxville family is still looking for closure after their loved one died in August.

Rick Hyder is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, but his daughter, Amanda Malott, said an issue with the cemetery’s co-owner has made the grieving process more difficult.

“My dad loved Christmas. He loved to cook. So, this time of year, especially, is difficult, and we really just want to be able to come out here and show him respect and let him be buried with dignity and grace and have everything the way it’s supposed to be — the way they told us it was going to be,” she said…
