KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — As the American nuclear industry continues to grow and create thousands of jobs across the nation, Tennessee is piloting new training programs to meet the growing demand for workers.
The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Roane State Community College, and the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology have partnered to develop nuclear technology training for students and professionals.

More than 230 nuclear companies operate in Tennessee, according to an announcement Tuesday, and the Nuclear Energy Institute projects that 236,000 workers will be needed nationally to manufacture, construct and operate advanced reactors through 2035.
