PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WATE) — Where’s the first place you stop at Dollywood? Chances are you’re going to say it’s the Spotlight Bakery for that delicious and oh-so-popular cinnamon bread.
We are taking you behind the scenes in the kitchen at the bakery to show you how to make cinnamon bread at home–maybe to have on Christmas morning!
Whataburger’s third Knox County location to open in Powell
In the bakery’s kitchen, I was outfitted with a cap, apron and gloves. Executive Chef Chris Seabrook was a great coach to guide me through the process. I learned you can use your own bread dough recipe to fit a standard-size loaf pan.
Cut several deep slices in it — Chef calls them “crevices.”
Then, you dip the dough into a butter bath, literally covering every inch of the dough and crevices in butter. Shake off any excess.
Then, dip into the cinnamon sugar mix. Again, make sure to work the mix into the crevices.
You wait for the dough to rise, which takes a standard 20 minutes…
