KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — As strong storms moved through the region Thursday night, Knoxville Fire Department crews responded to two separate homes after trees fell onto the homes.
KFD shared early Friday morning that crews were called to the separate incidents around 11:30 p.m., as well as several power lines that were knocked down during the storms.

At the first home on Towanda Trail in West Knoxville, KFD crews worked to free a person who was briefly trapped in the home. Photos from the scene show the large tree laying outside the home and the damage the tree caused.
Crews also responded to another home where a tree fell onto it on John May Drive in Northwest Knoxville.
KFD said both homes were significantly damaged. The occupants of both homes are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross or other family members.
