Lovers of Blount County history will have a special treat Saturday when Lester Presley, secretary of the Blount County Genealogical and Historical Society, presents a program featuring the historic postcard collection of the late B. Kenneth “Ken” Cornett.
Cornett, the official Blount County historian from 2018 until his death in 2022, amassed more than 400 postcards depicting businesses, churches and scenes from throughout the area dating from about 1900 onward.
Presley will show about 100 images from the collection, which were digitized by BCGHS volunteers after Cornett’s family donated the postcards along with other materials.
