Prisma Health restricts hospital visits for those under 15 as flu cases surge in Tennessee

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. — Due to increased rates of community influenza and other respiratory illnesses, Prisma Health, which owns Blount Memorial Hospital, will be restricting anyone under the age of 15 from visiting hospitalized patients in its hospitals starting Tuesday, Dec. 30.

Prisma Health said that this temporary visitor restriction is needed to help protect patients and team members during this time of “higher-than-normal” flu infection rates.
