Earthquakes strike Kentucky, Tennessee over the weekend

LANCASTER, Ky. — The U.S. Geological Survey reported an earthquake on Sunday in Central Kentucky and Eastern Tennessee over the past two days.

The 3.1 magnitude earthquake occurred at 11:47 a.m. on December 28, several miles from the city of Lancaster, and less than an hour away from Lexington and Frankfort, the USGS reports. The earthquake was felt as far as 98 miles away in Ohio.

No injuries or damage has been reported.
