Sevier County, TN (story courtesy of WVLT) – Burn permits are not being issued in Sevier County due to an elevated wildfire risk.
According to the Pittman Center Volunteer Fire Department, the Tennessee Department of Forestry is not issuing burn permits on Saturday, Dec. 27 or Sunday, Dec. 28 because of abnormally dry fuels and increasing winds that have resulted in an elevated wildfire risk in East Tennessee.
