KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released its initial report on the deadly crash that claimed the life of Blount County Deputy Justin Mowery.
Mowery died Sunday, Dec. 28, after the crash along Miser Station Road. The 30-year-old deputy was attempting to stop a motorcycle that failed to pull over when his patrol car left the roadway and struck a utility pole, according to the report.

He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to THP.
