Blount County commissioners are being asked not to give up a dam.
Blount County Board of Commissioners will consider a resolution introduced by Brad Bowers (District 8-A) and Jeff Jopling (8-B) to oppose the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ project to remove Peery’s Mill Dam from the Little River in Walland when the board meets for its January workshop session on Thursday.
The Corps Nashville District signed a project partnership agreement in December with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to remove the dam.
