KNOXVILLE, Tenn — Knoxville Police Department officers responded to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where a gun had been fired in a patient’s room on Monday morning.
Officers said that an elderly woman who was being treated at UTMC grabbed a gun from her purse and fired a round into the ground.
