Knoxville Attorney explains ‘Sober DUIs’ and what to do if it happens to you

TENNESSEE, USA — More and more drivers in Tennessee say they are being charged with driving under the influence even if they weren’t drunk or high.

This comes after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was required by a bill passed last year to report all DUI arrests where no alcohol or other intoxicants are detected in a person’s blood or on their breath.

In 2024, according to the TBI’s report, of the 16,883 blood samples submitted to their lab, 419 Tennessee drivers were charged with DUI despite not testing positive for drugs or alcohol…
