Farragut bank teller accused of stealing more than $8,000 from customers

FARRAGUT, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville woman has been accused of using customer information and forgery to steal more than $8,000 from customers while working as a bank teller in Farragut, Knox County court records said.

According to General Sessions dockets, Sherry Manz, 54, is accused of stealing the funds between September 17, 2025 and October 17, 2025 while working as a bank teller at the Fifth Third Bank on Parkside Drive in Farragut.

The dockets stated that Manz is accused of stealing the money by filling out withdrawal slips and forging victim signatures. The bank told investigators that during an internal interview, Manz admitted that she filled out the slips to a financial crimes officer, but said she was practicing.

In total, the records state that approximately $8,450 was stolen from customers, however, Fifth Third Bank told investigators that it has reimbursed at least $8,000 to customers who disputed the fraudulent charges on their accounts.
