Strong front to pass Sunday bringing breezy and colder conditions

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Rain showers continue to lighten up and clear out for the rest of the evening as temperatures slowly fall into the middle 30s Sunday morning. Expect a mostly clear night with winds coming from the NW at 5-10 mph.

SUNDAY: MUCH COLDER thanks to the passage of a cold front! Temperatures start off in the middle 30s in the morning with a few passing clouds. With the cold air in place, a few snow flurries could be squeezed out in the higher elevations of the mountains. Everywhere else, we will just be feeling the cold as temperatures remain in the upper 30s heading into the afternoon with peaks of sunshine.

Winds will be breezy tomorrow, coming from the northwest from 10-20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph here in the Valley. The stronger gusts, up to 40 mph, will be in place over the mountains. A Wind Advisory is in place for higher elevations until 7 pm Sunday night.

With the strong winds, it’ll feel colder throughout the day tomorrow with many of us feeling like the upper 20s and low 30s. Layers will be key!

MONDAY: Winds die down heading into Monday with a mostly clear sunny sky. High temperatures reach the middle 40s with overnight lows in the upper 20s…
