KNOXVILLE, Tenn — Sonja DuBois has slowly pieced her life together over the last 85 years after surviving the Holocaust. She is the only Holocaust survivor from her family, and says she owes her life to the decisions her parents made many years ago.
“I was only 20 months old when they gave me away,” DuBois said. “Which is probably the bravest thing anybody ever did. I mean, giving your first baby away.”
