TDCS to open welcome, wellness places in Knoxville, Lenoir City as part of $421M youth care initiative

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services released the first concept images of its future welcome and wellness places.

The welcome and wellness places are part of the department’s $421 million real estate initiative to build “trauma-responsive, purpose-built” spaces for youth entering state care.

DCS said it is currently engaged in the design phase of the project. Groundbreaking and construction are expected to begin this year…
