Two people killed in a New Year’s Day crash that followed a Tennessee Highway Patrol pursuit have now been publicly identified, bringing a somber bit of clarity to a chaotic early-morning scene in west Knoxville.
The Knox County Regional Forensic Center confirmed the victims as 35-year-old Ronald White and 21-year-old Da’Qasia Middleton after conducting autopsies and forensic comparisons. The collision happened in the early hours of Jan. 1 near Papermill Drive and Liberty Street in west Knoxville, shortly after a Tennessee Highway Patrol chase in the area.
