Man dead, teen charged after Knoxville police respond to endangered child alert

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Knoxville Police Department shot and killed a man while responding to an endangered child alert Wednesday, according to the department.

It happened in the morning, KPD said, when officers responded to an endangered child alert at the North Park Apartments on Tillery Road. KPD said officers entered the apartment and a man was shot and killed.

At this time, the identity of the endangered child has not been confirmed, but just after the shooting, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Isabella Hurlburt, missing out of the Knoxville area, had been found safe…
